Quartz
Most quartz surfaces, including Cambria quartz, are composed of 90%-93% quartz crystal and 10%-7% pigments and binders. This composition makes quartz surfaces incredibly hard, scratch resistant, and durable. Silestone surfaces can contain between 10% and 50% quartz crystal, and the remainder of the silicate composition is taken up by recycled silicates like glass. Unlike granite, concrete, and marble, quartz surfaces are nonporous, making them stain resistant, easily sanitized, food safe, mold and mildew resistant, and hygienic.
Solid Surface
Solid Surface is a composition of acrylic resin, dyes, and other aggregates. These surfaces are nonporous, strong, and easily repairable. They require very little maintenance and are easy to clean – just use a soft rag and mild soap. Solid Surfaces are rated food safe and easily sanitized, making them perfect for any space, commercial or residential.
